about me

Hi! My name is Zarria Word. I'm a marketer, designer, and a fan of many communities.
I've been a lover (or fangirl) of numerous brands, platforms, and franchises for as long as I can remember. I know what it's like to be a customer. I know what stories pull people in. I'm someone who just gets it, and I'm extremely passionate about doing things the right way.
But it doesn't just stop at a professional level. As someone who has been gaming since childhood, I naturally developed a habit of dissecting and analyzing my interests, a.k.a. figuring out the "whys" and what made certain things work. Most importantly, gaming taught me how to challenge myself, recognize patterns, and push through when things get tough.

have any questions for me?
how much experience do you have?
I started video editing when I was about 13, using apps like Video Star and iMovie. As I got older, I moved on to Sony Vegas Pro and Adobe After Effects. When I started college, I decided to set video editing aside to focus on school full time. I chose to get a degree in marketing because I’ve always been interested in the psychology behind why we connect with certain brands. I spent years leading marketing projects that involved research, surveys, case studies, campaigns, and graphic ads. For my last class, I chose to participate in the Global Career Accelerator, a career-readiness program that allowed me to complete projects for various large brands. I now work at an Edtech company, helping teach students all about marketing, data, and design.
how do you learn new things?
As a marketing grad, I didn’t let finishing school stop me from learning. I continued to take courses and practice important tools in my free time to prepare myself for whatever opportunities came next. Now? I still love the freedom of learning, and I’m always excited to try out new techniques and skills. I’m constantly analyzes marketing campaigns, community events, and design inspo. My big personal goal is to begin learning the game engine Godot and how to make chiptune music!
why should I work with you?
A dreaded question, right? To put it simply, I just want the best for you and your audience. Any brand or person I choose to work with is one I’ve researched and grown to genuinely admire. Similar to what I said in my ‘about me’ section, I’ve been a lifelong fan of so many things. I know what it’s like to be the customer who’s completely hooked and turns into a loyal supporter. I know what it’s like to spend years following a brand and convincing others to love it too. I want to help you hit your goals and then go even further.
